One of the biggest adventures of the year!
Many of us remember fondly our junior or senior prom and all the preparations leading up to the festivities. Thing 3 and Cony and I made a girls day out on their prom day. Our first stop was at Salon Capella to see Nichole, a former student of mine who put her expert skills to work!
Thing 3 has either been blessed or cursed with my curly hair. It was nice to watch a pro at work on her incredibly thick mass of hair!
No those are manageable curls!
Curls on one side, a braid on the other.
Pins, curls, twists….
Hairspray, and lots of it!
Miss Cony was next. She had decided that she also wanted a one sided do.
Beautiful, shiny curls.
Nichole is starting to pin up Cony’s curls.
More pinning of the curls.
A look in the mirror and more discussion.
The finished product. Beautiful work Nichole! Thank you so much! Check out Salon Capella on Facebook!
Now it was off to get nails done.
Starting with Cony getting hers cut to a manageable length.
Thing 3 getting a layer of acrylic applied.
Acrylic being applied to Cony’s nails.
Shaping of the acrylic.
Placing blue crystals on Thing 3’s nails. Yes, her dress is blue!
Thing 3’s nails drying under a nifty blue light.
Cony had pink and white crystals applied to her nails. Her dress is coral colored.

Make up and getting dressed followed our day of beautification.
The girls headed to the school for pictures, dinner and the prom and afterprom.
We had such a fun day together, a little bittersweet due to the fact that Cony will be going home to Chile this week. We have so loved having her here as a member of our family! We look forward to a visit from her father Bernardo in the next few days!
