A Cold Salute to our Veterans

A Cold Salute to Our Veterans.

On January 9, 2010 it was 12 below zero when an anonymous photographer glanced over at capitol lake to find this beauty.  With numb fingers the photographer stood in reverence to our fallen.  These photographs were taken at the Pierre, South Dakota World War II Memorial on Capitol Lake.  They require no words.

Capitol Lake stays ice-free all winter and provides habitat to countless ducks and geese.

Thank you to our Veterans!

Fantastic photos of those memorial statues. You really are silent for a moment to look at this in thankfulness to the veterans.
